Shine-youth-focus

It is our pleasure again this year to join with The Whole World Mobilizing in celebrating children and youth during the weekend of 23 – 25 March, 2018.

The theme for this weekend will be “Shine” based on the scripture in Isaiah 60:1. It is our sincere prayer that this intentional focus will help children, youth and families come to understand and experience the true Light that comes from knowing Christ and allow Him to guide their paths. We pray that God’s Light will shine in every dark corner of our world as children and youth respond to God’s call to “Arise and shine!” because “the glory of the LORD has risen on them.” (Isaiah 60:1)

FIVE QUESTIONS OF CHRISTMAS Advent Worship Series –  Each worship outline contains all elements needed for your worship service. The order of each service presented is only a suggestion. No doubt changes will be needed to accommodate the flow and worship style of your corps. The outlines are flexible and allow opportunities to “cut and paste” as needed. If you are blessed with instrumental or vocal music resources, you may find there is more structured material here than needed. It is recommended that the headings of each section of the service be included in the bulletin.

Scripture: “Live as citizens who reflect the Good News about Christ. Then, whether I come to see you or whether I stay away, I’ll hear all about you. I’ll hear that you are firmly united in spirit, united in fighting for the faith that the Good News brings.” PHILIPPIANS 1:27 (NOG)

Scripture Context: Philippians 1:27–2:11

Spiritual Discovery: Philippians 1:27 (NOG) instructs Christians how to live as citizens of the Kingdom. We will explore that scripture verse and focus on what we learn about the characteristics of Citizens of the Kingdom. Identifying these characteristics will challenge us to accept our responsibility to be good citizens, caring for each other and paying special attention to our personal support of World Services. As we share this Scripture, we will be reminded that we are part of a worldwide Army, we are global Christian citizens.

God invites each of us to join his Amazing Race! This Bible program teaches campers what it means to be in this race and invites them to join it. Here are some of the key points campers will discover: God’s Race is for everyone; What is God’s Race? It’s God’s Course for us; The Finish Line is life with God in heaven forever; Sin takes us off course; God strengthens us in the race; and God’s grace put us back on course Key verse for the week is 2 Timothy 4:7: I have competed well; I have finished the race; I have kept the faith! May your campers be able to echo these words of the Apostle Paul. This Bible program uses a large group – small group teaching style with dramas, group activities and station activities. Also included are cabin devotions which could be used as small group discussion times when your campers need a break from their physical activity or as a final teaching time at the end of the day. NOTE this is a 42 page download. If you would rather purchase a printed copy you can order one through our on-line catalogue at www.saministrycatalogue.ca
